Your brain works differently, not wrongly.
Many of the people I work with are neurodivergent. Some come to me already knowing they have ADHD or are autistic. Others have spent years feeling “different” without knowing why. They may have been told they’re too much, too sensitive, too distracted, or not trying hard enough, or received a diagnosis that never quite fit.
If you’ve ever wondered where you fit on the neurodivergent spectrum, or whether you’re “neurospicy,” you don’t need to have it all figured out before reaching out. We can explore those questions together, at your pace.
How I can help
- If you’re already diagnosed: we can work on what matters to you, such as burnout, anxiety, relationships, work or school, or simply understanding yourself better. I won’t try to make you more “normal.”
- If you’re wondering: we can explore your experiences, look at your history together, and make sense of patterns you’ve noticed. I offer screenings that help determine whether further assessment is warranted, and when it is, I refer you to a specialist for formal ADHD or autism testing.
- If trauma is part of your story: neurodivergent people are more likely to have experienced trauma, often from years of being misunderstood. ADHD, autism, and complex PTSD can share some of the same signs, and they often occur together. My trauma training helps me tell them apart and work with all of them.
What sessions can look like
Therapy should fit the way your brain works. In any session, you’re welcome to:
- Stim, fidget, or move around
- Limit eye contact if it helps with sensory overload
- Take breaks or ask me to explain things a different way
- Try walk-and-talk sessions if sitting still isn’t your thing
My office is set up with sensory needs in mind:
- Soft lamp lighting instead of overhead lights
- Plenty of fidgets, thinking putty, worry stones, sensory balls, and push-peel boards
- Weighted pillows and stuffed animals to use during sessions
You never need to mask with me.
